ODEX, the premier Japanese animation film distributor in Southeast Asia, has officially announced on their YouTube Channel that the highly anticipated anime movie, “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train,” Japan’s highest-grossing box office hit of all time, is set to release in Indian theaters starting July 15, 2021. The movie will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub for Indian audiences.
While ODEX has made the announcement, PVR Pictures, a major foreign language movie distributor and the official distributor of this blockbuster anime film in India, has not yet disclosed the release date. The release date from PVR Pictures will be communicated soon.
“Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” is an animated blockbuster based on the popular “Demon Slayer” manga series. It achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first movie in Japan to surpass ¥40 billion in box office revenue. On December 26, just 72 days after its October release, the film became Japan’s highest-grossing film, surpassing Hayao Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away.”
This Japanese animated film also made history in the United States, debuting with a $19.5 million opening, marking the biggest opening for any foreign-language film in the U.S. Additionally, it continued its record-breaking success with a $21.14 million opening in April, securing the biggest debut by a foreign-language film in U.S. box office history.

After completing rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, Tanjiro and his group embark on their next mission on the Mugen Train, where more than 40 people have disappeared in a short period.
